Kyoto Prefecture (jp. 京都市. rmj. kyoto-fu. kansai region), the name Kyoto comes from Kyō (京) Capitol, To (都) Metropolis. Kyoto and Osaka use the suffix "Fu" (en. urban prefecture) word for prefecture and are the only prectures to use it. It is located on the island of Honshu and is apart of the Keihanshin (京阪神) Metropolitan Trio of Kyoto, Kobe (Hyogo), and Osaka. Kyoto Metropolitan is the capital of the Kyoto prefecture and has 11 special wards. Kyoto City that is a landlocked area which has some of the most foot traffic. With a high population density and high traveler count the area has busy temples, traditional goods of arts and crafts, and an abundance of restaurants..
Design
Kyo originally meant a hill that is easy to live on and To referred to it as a metropolis city. It is said that Tokimasa Hojo created a position called the "Guardian of Kyoto". It is also sometimes called "Thousand-year Capitol". It represents the unity of all the citizens of the prefecture and the connection of their power.
Welcome to Kyoto! The Prefecture of Kyoto was one of the largest cities and was the Japanese Capital (764-1868) and has wonderful historic sights with its temples and shrines. Known the world over as the place of being a walk through museum with all the cultural value that is holds in its, gardens, architecture, and traditions it is what comes to mind when thinking of the soul of Japan. It was marked off the target list during World War II, so luckily all the historical landmarks and areas still exist for people to explore.
